Do you need a dumpster permit in Rockwall?

Rockwall handles right-of-way permits through the Engineering office's online Public Access Portal. Its instructions do not mention dumpsters, so call Engineering at 972-771-7746 before placing a roll-off in the street. On your own driveway, the question does not come up, and our drivers put boards under the rails.

Each address needs its own Engineering permit, and work in TxDOT right-of-way needs added TxDOT papers. The city lists no permit fee in the portal instructions.

Where does debris from Rockwall go?

Rockwall's city trash pages do not name a landfill, and we did not verify one. Your roll-off load goes to a permitted disposal site. The facility name on your scale ticket shows where it was weighed, and that ticket comes with your final invoice.

For items that don't belong in a roll-off

Rockwall residents can book a free at-home pickup for chemicals and many electronics through HHW Solutions. For small piles, Republic's brush and bulk pickup takes up to 6 cubic yards at the front curb.

What can go in a dumpster

Rockwall cut back bulk pickup. What do I do with a big pile now?

Rockwall ended unlimited brush and bulk pickup in December 2025. Since January 1, 2026, each pickup is capped at 6 cubic yards, about 9 by 6 by 3 feet. Anything bigger needs a paid special pickup from Republic. Construction debris, dirt and rock are never taken. A 10 yard roll-off holds more than one full pickup, and a 30 yard holds five.

Which dumpster sizes deliver to Rockwall?

All five sizes deliver to Rockwall: 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40-yard. Each includes delivery, pickup, 7 days and 2 to 5 tons. Extra weight is $75 per ton, billed by the pound from the landfill scale ticket that comes with your invoice.

Where do we deliver in Rockwall?

We deliver across Rockwall ZIP codes 75032, 75087. The run from our McKinney yard is about 30 miles. Tell us the exact drop spot when you book: driveway side, gate code, or anything low overhead. The driver texts or calls 20–30 minutes before arriving, so you don't need to wait at home.

Rockwall dumpster rental questions

How big can my bulk pile be in Rockwall now?

Since January 1, 2026, Rockwall limits brush and bulk to 6 cubic yards per pickup. That is about 9 feet long, 6 feet high and 3 feet wide. Bigger piles need a paid special pickup or a roll-off.

Will Rockwall pick up my old fence?

Rockwall takes fencing cut to 6' x 3' x 3', but not posts with concrete attached. A roll-off takes panels and posts together. Concrete chunks go only in our 10 or 15 yard, loaded halfway up.

Can I put remodeling debris out for Rockwall bulk pickup?

Republic will not collect construction or remodel debris, rock, dirt or scrap building material in Rockwall. That material belongs in a roll-off. A 15 or 20 yard covers most room remodels.

How do I get rid of paint and chemicals in Rockwall?

Rockwall residents can schedule a free at-home pickup through HHW Solutions. Wet paint, batteries and chemicals cannot go in our dumpsters. Use that service first, then fill the roll-off.

Do I need a permit to put a dumpster on a Rockwall street?

Rockwall issues right-of-way permits through Engineering's online portal, but its instructions do not mention dumpsters. Call Engineering at 972-771-7746 before using the street. A driveway drop avoids the issue.
