What's included in the dumpster price?
Every flat-rate price includes four things: delivery, pickup, 7 days and a set weight. The weight is 2 tons in a 10-yard, 2.5 tons in a 15-yard, 3 tons in a 20-yard, 4 tons in a 30-yard and 5 tons in a 40-yard. Nothing else is added unless you trigger one of the extras below.
| Size | Included weight | Included days | Delivery & pickup | Extra weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10-yard | 2 tons (4,000 lb) | 7 days | Included | $75/ton, by the pound |
| 15-yard | 2.5 tons (5,000 lb) | 7 days | Included | $75/ton, by the pound |
| 20-yard | 3 tons (6,000 lb) | 7 days | Included | $75/ton, by the pound |
| 30-yard | 4 tons (8,000 lb) | 7 days | Included | $75/ton, by the pound |
| 40-yard | 5 tons (10,000 lb) | 7 days | Included | $75/ton, by the pound |
What extra fees can a dumpster rental have?
Every possible extra charge has a fixed amount: extra weight is $75 per ton, extra days are $25 each, and a dry run is $125. Mattresses, tires and Freon appliances are $50 each, same-day rush delivery is $50, and a swap is billed as a new rental.
| Extra charge | Amount | When it applies | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extra weight | $75 per ton, by the pound | Net weight on the scale ticket is over your size's included tons | Pick the right size; keep heavy debris in a 10 or 15-yard |
| Extra days | $25 per day | You keep the dumpster past 7 days | Book delivery for the day work starts |
| Swap | Billed as a new rental | A full dumpster is pulled and an empty one dropped | Round up a size if you're unsure |
| Dry run | $125 | The truck can't drop or pick up: blocked by cars, low wires or a locked gate | Clear the spot and unlock gates |
| Overfill | $125 dry run, plus you remove the excess | Debris is above the top rim | Keep the load level with the rim |
| Mattress, tire or Freon appliance | $50 each | Any of these goes in the dumpster | Use your city's bulky pickup if it takes them |
| Same-day rush | $50 | You need delivery today and a truck is free | Book by 3 PM for next-day delivery |
How do the extras add up on a real bill?
In this example, a 20-yard renter adds $205 in extras. They keep the dumpster 10 days, load 3.4 tons, and toss in two mattresses. Every line comes from a fixed rate, and the scale ticket proves the weight line. Your own bill only shows extras you actually trigger.
| Line on your final invoice | Amount |
|---|---|
| 20-yard flat-rate rental (7 days, 3 tons, delivery, pickup) | Your quoted price |
| 3 extra days at $25 | $75.00 |
| 0.4 tons over (800 lb) at $75/ton | $30.00 |
| 2 mattresses at $50 | $100.00 |
| Extras total | $205.00 |

What sets the price of a dumpster?
Five things set a dumpster's price: the size, the type of debris, the distance from our McKinney yard, the landfill's fee per ton in that area, and how long you keep it. A 10-yard of clean concrete is priced differently from a 10-yard of household trash.
- Size. Bigger bins include more tons and cost more to haul. See dumpster sizes.
- Debris type. Unmixed concrete or dirt can get clean-fill pricing. Mixed heavy loads can't. See concrete and dirt dumpsters.
- Distance. We cover about 80 miles around McKinney. Longer runs take more truck time.
- Landfill fees. Landfills charge by the ton, and rates differ by facility.
- Rental length. 7 days are included; each extra day is $25.
How do I keep my dumpster bill low?
Three habits keep a dumpster bill at the flat rate: pick the right size, stay under the included tons, and keep the drop spot clear. Most overages come from shingles, tile or plaster. Most dry runs come from a parked car. Each is avoidable before the truck arrives.
- Read how dumpster weight is billed before loading heavy debris.
- Cover the open dumpster before rain. Wet debris weighs more.
- Follow the loading guide to stay level with the rim.
- Move cars and unlock gates the night before delivery to avoid a $125 dry run.
- Call before day 7 if you need more time, so pickup moves instead of stalling.
Questions about this
Why don't you list one price for every dumpster?
Price depends on size, debris, distance and the landfill used, and landfill fees change by season. We quote a flat rate per size by phone, and the quote lists the included tons and the $75/ton rate in writing.
Is tax or a fuel surcharge added to my bill?
The extras on this page are the full list of possible add-on charges. Ask about tax when you book, and the quote will show it.
Are cheap dumpster quotes really cheaper?
A low base price can come with fewer included tons, fewer days, or a high per-ton rate. Compare the included tons, the days and the overage rate side by side, not the base price alone.
When will I know my final cost?
The final invoice is emailed 3 to 5 business days after pickup, once the landfill processes its records. The scale ticket is attached, so each weight charge can be checked.
Does a bigger dumpster cost much more?
Each step up includes more tons and more volume. A bigger bin often costs less than a second haul, which is billed as a full new rental.
